Real Leather vs Faux | Silver Triangle Leatherworks

Every piece we create is handcrafted from top grain leather — no shortcuts, no synthetics. We don’t keep stock; each item is made-to-order to fit your exact needs. From collars to restraints, we focus on durability, comfort, and a perfect fit.

Curious about the difference between real leather and faux? Here’s what you need to know before buying.

Real Top-Grain Leather is smooth naturally, there are no patterns at all unless embossed on a massive scale, which it is not.
Now, a lot of times you will see "Genuine Leather" but if it's not Top-Grain the chances are that we could all make it. Take old leather scraps, grind them into a fine powder. Then add a binding agent, but it through a heated press with a pattern in it.
So, is it Genuine Leather, Yes, but to what extent.
I always tell people to look for the pimples, if there are what I call pimples or any kind of pattern, it's not the best part of the leather which is the Top-Grain. Not The Blood side.

We don’t design for pretty pictures.
We design for performance — in real-world conditions, under real-world pressure.

Every strap, buckle, and stitch (only where needed) has a purpose. No padding. No embellishments. Just premium top grain leather, industrial-strength hardware, and craftsmanship that doesn’t quit.

Our gear isn’t mass-produced. It’s made to be used — and trusted — by those who demand strength, resilience, and authenticity.

This is gear that holds up — and holds you down — the way real leather should.
